Bong Hits For Jesus Interview!

Our today's post is dedicated to our friends, a band Bong Hits For Jesus! A local band from Philadelphia that is so hot right now!

We have been friends for a long time and are so excited for them to experience all this cool things that are going on :) Yesterday's afternoon we had a chance to chat with Steve, a band leader, about what's going on with them :) ( a little video you can find at the end of a post)

Well, they have been working with David Ivory (!!!!) on their new EP "Low Rent Hustlers" that is coming out this Saturday, August 25th. WE LOVE THE ARTWORK for the EP and can't wait to hear the tracks. Check out their website http://bonghitsforjesus.net for more info!

Also they are going to be performing at Hemp Heals Festival in Philadelphia on August 25th with such great bands as Sublime with Rome and Cypress Hill.

Sublime was a legendary American rock band from Long Beach, California, formed in 1988. The band’s line-up, unchanged until their breakup, consisted of Bradley Nowell (vocals and guitar), Eric Wilson (bass guitar) and Bud Gaugh (drums and percussion).  Lou Dog, Nowell’s dalmatian, was the mascot of the band. Nowell died of a heroin overdose in 1996 and Sublime immediately split up. In 2009, the surviving members decided to reform the band with Rome Ramirez to bring back the band with a similar vocality that they had with Bradley.

Cypress Hill is an American hip hop group from South Gate, California. Cypress Hill was the first Cuban-American/Latino hip hop group to have platinum and multi-platinum albums, selling over 18 million albums worldwide. It is one of the most well-known groups in West Coast rap and was critically acclaimed for their first two groundbreaking albums.

This is one of a kind festival. Lots of music, many different industrial hemp vendors, speakers, hemp education, foods and drinks. The mission of the festival is to increase health awareness and to help people understand the connection between diet and most disease. And to promote a separation between industrial hemp and other uses of the cannabis plant. Organic and raw plant based foods can help prevent most disease by reducing environmental toxins and maximizing nutrition. Its more than a diet. Its a lifestyle. It is the The Hemp Heals Foundation’s duty to promote natural plant healing and healthy, eco friendly living. Money raised will go to Christina Pirello's Health Education Initiative.
