Show at WorldCafeLive in Philly on 2/25

Hello my fellow ninjas of Glen Landing,

So last night I attended a show at the World Cafe Live.  It was some local bands that I have seen and some that I haven't.  The overall show was awesome, good people, good music, and good vibes.  The bands that played were the Jackson Rider, Bong Hits For Jesus, the Better Half and John and Brittney.

Big ups to Jackson Rider there set was filled with catchy foot tapping melodies.  I have only seen them once before but I remembered their songs and that is cool.  You know you got something when that happens.  The have a little country twang to them mixed with the reggae vibe.  The bass player and drummer are twins so u can only imagine how tight they were together.  And the singer just has a cool voice and he writes really good songs.  And also real good people too.

I have seen Bong Hits many times before but not in this current formation.   What I mean is that they sounded like a different band.  Steven Rose the singer/theman really, really, really, killed it.  Was by far the strongest and best singer of the night.  And this was my first time seeing them with their new lead guitarist Joe.  His style of playing absolutely fits the style of music that they play and complements Steve's great songwriting.  They are a true party band and Steve's stage presence is and has the potential to be in the top echelon of lead men of rock.  They have been working on some new songs with David Ivory so look for some of their new material to be coming out this spring.

As with everytime I see the Better Half, they bring the same consistency to the show everytime they play.  Their rock anthems are loud and make you want to sing along, and still sing along while your in your car driving home with one of their songs stuck in your head.  The Better Half also has a new record coming out this spring recorded with Jim Solaman @CambridgeSoundStudio so look for that.

And finally John and Brittney.  John Faye is the man, lead singer/guitarist of the band IKE, and now playing with Brittney.  A newer project for John and what can i can say, John is the man.  The songs are always catchy and he is great with the crowd.  The drummer that was playing with him was a total pro.  If you looked at his snare drum there was like a silver dollar size spot of ware on the head where he always hits it.  PRO!!!  So it was a great time with good people and good bands and hope to see all of them again soon.

Thanks to Vince of Double V Bookings for putting on an awesome show.  Dan
