"Russian Party" Explained by Dan. Part 2

With heavy accent, "Dude, we go to Russian Party tonight!!"  I have heard this phrase many times in my years of chillin at the southern jersey beach town of Wildwood.

Yanna, Treece, Yuraslava, Ania

To explain how these Russian parties happen it starts with college students from all over Europe coming to America to work for the summer. They work many, many hours and party hard thru the night.  Most kids live in hostel type housing in wildwood so the parties always happen at Russian houses.  In the "Russian Houses" their are veterans of the work and travel program that help facilitate these parties to happen.  Here is the General.  Thats just how he smiles.  LOL!!!  Good friend of mine.

(singing with accent) "HAppy Birthday!!!"

Their doesn't need to be an occasion for these parties to get nuts.  Just vodka and some beer !  This past Tuesday it was a birthday party!!  That's the birthday girl right dere and the dude on the left is Andre "King of Wildwood"  He throws many killer parties and his dance moves are hot.  Just ask Chuck Treece, Andre was telling Treece about how the girls just come to him when he dances at the club in Miami.  Oh yea, Russians have this thing with Miami.  They all have to go Miami at some point.

TO BE CONTINUED.... and don't forget to share this on your pages!!!!  Click below to get our single "BubbleGum"  for free download

House Party Addiction! Part 1

Hello friends!

Ania  is here, reporting live from fresh beautiful and charming beach of North Wildwood, NJ

Recently we found ourselves having such awesome time while playing at Wild Russian Summer Parties 2012! Yesterday was the second show we played and it was so cool!!! Both parties were Birthday celebrations for two Russian girls both named Zenia! (is there any other Zenia's that are going to have birthdays soon?! i wonder...)

We love the energy, the vibes, the different languages, all this interesting new people we meet! Mostly Russian students that are spending their summer 2012 here in USA, in Wild Wildwood!!!

There were lots of people, everybody having fun, dancing, singing!

WE LOVE YOU, OUR NEW FRIENDS!!!!
(specail thanks to Zenia Soshkina for pictures!)

Meet our new friends! This is Julia, Zenia, another Zenia (it was her birthday party), and Slava!

Slava and Zenia are our neighbors, they are my favorite girls here !
We love to hang out and play at these parties!

We have played 6 songs, including Holiday acoustic, a new version of Criminals, Disco featuring me on guitar and singing (oh yeah these disco days are HOT), and of course BubbleGum.

The show was very intimate and just enough loud to hear everything clear.

And of course our favorite part was all our new friends dancing (like the speakers were about to fall down from the SHAKE of the room!!!!!) and a lovely light machine that was setting up the mood of a Russian- American spaceship racing to the stars!!

A special and pleasant surprise was to have legendary Chuck Treece at the party too! he is freshly back from his European tour with a band Lemonheads! Lots of cool stories from him!

YEAH, and baby seals were there too!!

GEAR! Orange and Space Echo are hanging out!

Stay tuned for the second part of the story - an inside view of an American of a Russian party!

Dan will explain how he feels about it and I am sure it will very interesting!

All the best, Ania

Summer Pick Of The Week - BOOK

Hello !

We hope that your summer days are going well so far! And today we are going to tell you what book is our Summer Pick Of The Week.

“Perhaps I should not have been a fisherman, he thought. But that was the thing that I was born for.”
― Ernest HemingwayThe Old Man and the Sea

Yes, yes, it is The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway! He is my favorite American writer and this book was his first one i read and is sort of "classic" for me.

A perfect book for your summer days on the beach (i hope) or just those relaxing moments. For everyone who loves and lives the sea.

“Then he began to pity the great fish that he had hooked. He is wonderful and strange and who knows how old he is, he thought. Never have I had such a strong fish nor one who acted so strangely. Perhaps he is too wise to jump. He could ruin me by jumping or by a wild rush. But perhaps he has been hooked many times before and he knows that this is how he should make his fight. He cannot know it is only one man against him, nor that it is an old man. But what a great fish he is! He took the bait like a male and he pulls like a male and his fight has no panic in it. I wonder if he has plans or if he is just as desperate as I am?”
― Ernest HemingwayThe Old Man and the Sea

(is it time to go to the beach yet?) While i am writing this, i am looking at the ocean. It is one of it's best blue days. There is no boundaries between the ocean and the sky. Only shades of blue and white caps.

In the meanwhile we are presenting you our new "Friend" - a new piece of equipment. It is called Reverb Tank by Fender. We'll see what kinda jokes it got for us. It is specifically made for "surf" guitar sound and this is sound we are going for. Super excited to experiment with it.

We have been writing new songs! And in the latest one that 'came" to us the chorus is "mermaid is my girlfriend" :0 ! ha! i like it very much, it is cool and melodic and very catchy! (i've been singing it all morning today)

All the best, and
till the next post!!!

Glen Landing And The Snowboarding Opossum

Hello!

Today we are going to reveal the connection between GL and The Snowboarding Opossum. No, it is not our opossum :( and we did not shot that video :( BUT

our new song is called "Pizza Without" - it is funny! And this opossum inspired us while writing lyrics!

The song depicts a TRUE story!!!!
and this is what happened - here is sneak pick of the lyrics:

Pizza Without  - by Glen Landing

Band practicing on Wednesday night
Got excited for a pizza slice
And Scott said he doesn't like pepperoni!
I said WHAT??! WHAT?! WHAT?!!!!

What's pizza's like without -
PEPPERONI!!! PEPPERONI!!

What's pizza's like without -
PEPPERONI!!! PEPPERONI!!

Posted on my facebook page
See what my homies had to say
it went viral like THE SNOWBOARDING OPOSSUM!!!!
They said WHAT?!WHAT?! WHAT?!!!!

What's pizza's like without -
PEPPERONI!!! PEPPERONI!!

What's pizza's like without -
PEPPERONI!!! PEPPERONI!!

Pizza without pepperoni
Is like koala bear without eucalyptus
It's like glen landing without Fender Rhodes
It's like Justin :0 without Bieber!!!!

Here it is! You can catch us jamming & dancing out to this song at our live shows :)))
And do you guys like pizza with pepperoni?!

Here are some shots from you from our show at Gloucester Township Day!!

Snowboarding Opossum = Summer Pick Of The Week - VIDEO

Hey Yall!!

Happy hump day :) and happy warm June Wednesday!

Today we are presenting you a Video - Our summer pick of the week! And it is featuring a snowboarding opossum!!

Isn't he adorable!!!! With a pass from Burton and his lime and blue striped sweater?
Did you guys know that opossum is the North America's only marsupial (have a pouch) mammal? Yes, babies live in a pouch until they are 2-3 month old, and then they are carried on mom's back for another few month. Opossum's only form of defence when attacked or scared is to open his mouth wide and show all his teeth (as you see in a video in the beginning :)  or play dead... That's about it, well, it's not good at defending itself :)))))
Anyway, with that amazing pink tail that he hangs on by, and pink nose, and pink feet  - we love these animals!!!

Well, what does a snowboarding opossum has to do with Glen Landing? You are probably asking this question.

Well, friends, that will be our next post tomorrow!!! We'll answer this question in our next blog post. The clues will be revealed and the truth will come out!!!!

All the best!
WE HOPE YOU LIKE THE VIDEO! cause we LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

Our Show At Gloucester Township Day

Hello!!!

Fresh report here from our show yesterday at Gloucester Township day at Veterans Memorial park!

It was a great begging of the summer celebration! The weather was gorgeous, fresh breeze and sunshine all day. We had our tent and table set up with t-shirts and seal gear :) and we had two contests going on: a FREE guitar giveaway which was such a hit! and also a huge gar of bubblegum, and you could win it if you guess the exact amount of pieces of gum in it.

It was awesome to watch kids trying to figure out how many pieces of gum is there. They were doing math, using a "Pie" method (?!) to calculate, they even asked for a calculator. Anyway, for everyone who guessed, there were 289 pieces of gum!!!! Right before BubbleGum song we announced the winner. A little boy won and he was so happy!

We want to thank ALL our friends and family who came to he show!! Especially our number ONE fan Jeff Knorr, our friend and our first bass player Brian Oberg now of The Wooden Owls , Neeka Caplan, and little Holly Evans. The stage was awesome,  lot of equipment there (well, that's how we roll). Also we got our sound engineer there, Ethan Caplan  - thank you Ethan!!!!!

The highlight of the show was appearance of our special guest Rich Quick, and WOW he killed it !!!! we played two songs together, and the energy there was unbelievable. Check him out! He is so talented.

Also we were happy to play our two new songs - Pizza and DiscoTeka!!!!! All little girls were dancing and having good time! yeah, that's what we want!

Just before our Pizza song we announced who won the guitar. And then a little rock star was born! you should see the excitement on the boy's face when he was running to the stage to get his prize!!!
