House Party Addiction! Part 1

Hello friends!

Ania  is here, reporting live from fresh beautiful and charming beach of North Wildwood, NJ

Recently we found ourselves having such awesome time while playing at Wild Russian Summer Parties 2012! Yesterday was the second show we played and it was so cool!!! Both parties were Birthday celebrations for two Russian girls both named Zenia! (is there any other Zenia's that are going to have birthdays soon?! i wonder...)

We love the energy, the vibes, the different languages, all this interesting new people we meet! Mostly Russian students that are spending their summer 2012 here in USA, in Wild Wildwood!!!

There were lots of people, everybody having fun, dancing, singing!

WE LOVE YOU, OUR NEW FRIENDS!!!!
(specail thanks to Zenia Soshkina for pictures!)

Meet our new friends! This is Julia, Zenia, another Zenia (it was her birthday party), and Slava!

Slava and Zenia are our neighbors, they are my favorite girls here !
We love to hang out and play at these parties!

We have played 6 songs, including Holiday acoustic, a new version of Criminals, Disco featuring me on guitar and singing (oh yeah these disco days are HOT), and of course BubbleGum.

The show was very intimate and just enough loud to hear everything clear.

And of course our favorite part was all our new friends dancing (like the speakers were about to fall down from the SHAKE of the room!!!!!) and a lovely light machine that was setting up the mood of a Russian- American spaceship racing to the stars!!

A special and pleasant surprise was to have legendary Chuck Treece at the party too! he is freshly back from his European tour with a band Lemonheads! Lots of cool stories from him!

YEAH, and baby seals were there too!!

GEAR! Orange and Space Echo are hanging out!

Stay tuned for the second part of the story - an inside view of an American of a Russian party!

Dan will explain how he feels about it and I am sure it will very interesting!

All the best, Ania

Our Show At Gloucester Township Day

Hello!!!

Fresh report here from our show yesterday at Gloucester Township day at Veterans Memorial park!

It was a great begging of the summer celebration! The weather was gorgeous, fresh breeze and sunshine all day. We had our tent and table set up with t-shirts and seal gear :) and we had two contests going on: a FREE guitar giveaway which was such a hit! and also a huge gar of bubblegum, and you could win it if you guess the exact amount of pieces of gum in it.

It was awesome to watch kids trying to figure out how many pieces of gum is there. They were doing math, using a "Pie" method (?!) to calculate, they even asked for a calculator. Anyway, for everyone who guessed, there were 289 pieces of gum!!!! Right before BubbleGum song we announced the winner. A little boy won and he was so happy!

We want to thank ALL our friends and family who came to he show!! Especially our number ONE fan Jeff Knorr, our friend and our first bass player Brian Oberg now of The Wooden Owls , Neeka Caplan, and little Holly Evans. The stage was awesome,  lot of equipment there (well, that's how we roll). Also we got our sound engineer there, Ethan Caplan  - thank you Ethan!!!!!

The highlight of the show was appearance of our special guest Rich Quick, and WOW he killed it !!!! we played two songs together, and the energy there was unbelievable. Check him out! He is so talented.

Also we were happy to play our two new songs - Pizza and DiscoTeka!!!!! All little girls were dancing and having good time! yeah, that's what we want!

Just before our Pizza song we announced who won the guitar. And then a little rock star was born! you should see the excitement on the boy's face when he was running to the stage to get his prize!!!

Cool Gear We Used For Recording BubbleGum!

Hello Friends!
Remembering today how we were recording BubbleGum at David Ivory's studio.
Check some of this vintage and cool gear!

We used this to reamp our bass line of Fender Rhodes Bass piano!
WOW! David Ivory is amazing!

This is an amazing collection of guitars of our friend Ed Abrams. We were so lucky to use these guitars on our recordings. Thank you, Ed!!!!

Everything the best!!!
We hope sun will come out in Jerzzz!!!

Sincerely,  Ania
