Greeting From Minsk! By Ania

Hello friends!!

Anna is here, reporting live for you from Minsk, Belarus!

Yes, I am visiting my hometown for a few weeks and getting some spirit refillment :)

I know that back in Philadelphia, there are probably flowers already blooming! Here winter is still in power! I got lucky, it is not -20 degrees out :) But it snows every day!!!

This is my Minsk...

Overlooking river Niamiha, the view of center city.

I am spending my time walking around the streets I was walking when I was in school and college... Of course mittens and hat and scarf and fur boots required!!!!!!!

A view around Gorky Park
Check out this lovely ducks!! They hang around the river. I feel they are different from the ones in New Jersey... On the smaller side. I feel bad, cause they are probably cold! I brought them some bread.

Minsk ducks

Minsk is a place with modern and old architecture. It's lovely to see a cathedral and a church right in the middle of a square in center city. The area in this picture is the area where my university was located and i used to walk here all the time!!

Main square in Minsk and Cathedral of Saint Helena and Simon in red brick

Oh yeah! it snows every day here!!! So you come home looking like a huge snowflake!!! That's how I looked like on the way from the Theatre of Opera and Ballet last night.

Even during  last days of February the winter doesn't want to let go!!

This is my beautiful Belarus... Love the fields and forests....

Well, i feel very calm and content here. I did bring a supply of Bubblegum to chew on :)

We are going to upload Bubblegum song to the soundcloud.com/glenlanding so you can listen to it and also comment !!!! that will be great!!!

Please ask me questions about Minsk and my experience here if you want :)))))

We'll see you soon because we are having some new exciting shows coming up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Show at WorldCafeLive in Philly on 2/25

Hello my fellow ninjas of Glen Landing,

So last night I attended a show at the World Cafe Live.  It was some local bands that I have seen and some that I haven't.  The overall show was awesome, good people, good music, and good vibes.  The bands that played were the Jackson Rider, Bong Hits For Jesus, the Better Half and John and Brittney.

Big ups to Jackson Rider there set was filled with catchy foot tapping melodies.  I have only seen them once before but I remembered their songs and that is cool.  You know you got something when that happens.  The have a little country twang to them mixed with the reggae vibe.  The bass player and drummer are twins so u can only imagine how tight they were together.  And the singer just has a cool voice and he writes really good songs.  And also real good people too.

I have seen Bong Hits many times before but not in this current formation.   What I mean is that they sounded like a different band.  Steven Rose the singer/theman really, really, really, killed it.  Was by far the strongest and best singer of the night.  And this was my first time seeing them with their new lead guitarist Joe.  His style of playing absolutely fits the style of music that they play and complements Steve's great songwriting.  They are a true party band and Steve's stage presence is and has the potential to be in the top echelon of lead men of rock.  They have been working on some new songs with David Ivory so look for some of their new material to be coming out this spring.

As with everytime I see the Better Half, they bring the same consistency to the show everytime they play.  Their rock anthems are loud and make you want to sing along, and still sing along while your in your car driving home with one of their songs stuck in your head.  The Better Half also has a new record coming out this spring recorded with Jim Solaman @CambridgeSoundStudio so look for that.

And finally John and Brittney.  John Faye is the man, lead singer/guitarist of the band IKE, and now playing with Brittney.  A newer project for John and what can i can say, John is the man.  The songs are always catchy and he is great with the crowd.  The drummer that was playing with him was a total pro.  If you looked at his snare drum there was like a silver dollar size spot of ware on the head where he always hits it.  PRO!!!  So it was a great time with good people and good bands and hope to see all of them again soon.

Thanks to Vince of Double V Bookings for putting on an awesome show.  Dan

Hello!

Ania is reporting live for you here!!

Today we got the final final final mastered mixes of our two new singles!!! Ah, this moment I wished for for so long! The first time we appeared in David Ivory's studio was my birthday, June 14. And since then we were going there for about 6 months. I never thought that recording and mixing of 2 songs can take so long. Well, this was definitely first time experience for us. And it was great.

I can't explain you my excitement when we were listening to done and mastered BubbleGum and Holiday!! It was a special moment.  It sounds like a real recording!!! Is that us?? Amazing job by David and our mastering man Peter. Mastering makes the songs sound so smooth and slick!!!

BubbleGum so surfy and dreamy... Makes you want to go on a trip :0 Dan said it the best in Holiday song :"Emotions are filling the air"... of the car where we were driving and listening... And thinking what is there for us? What journey will BubbleGum take us on... Reflections on memories in the studio... Jamming at home... These precious advices David was giving us and lessons he taught us at the studio..

We would like to thank everybody for making this happen!!!

Our amazing producer David Ivory, a great man and a teacher. We have grown so much thanks to you. We are feeling stronger then ever.

Last day at the studio, discussing the final touches of the mix...

Ed Abrams, for supporting us, for believing, for being that one person that comforts us just by being there. For being our friend and adviser on all these important issues. Thank you for letting us use your amazing collection of guitars for our recording!!! ( we are making a special video on guitars)  AND playing the best guitar part on our song Holiday that immediately transports you to a dreamy island!!!
Ed's special: this stripy baby is AMAZING!!! Dan is in love ...

Ready For Millennium Music Conference!

Hello FRIENDS!!!

First, I would like to stress that spring is coming! Though I can't wait any more... I just want to feel a warm breeze on my face and hair, and to loose these sweaters!!! OH! Ok, there are still some good news: it's February and this is the time for Millennium Music Conference (MMC) in Harrisburg, PA.

Glen Landing was a proud participant of MMC in 2011. This year we are going to be there again. Although it's a little different for us this time.

Now looking back a year ago... We have changed so much musically. We have BUBBLEGUM... We are proudly working with David Ivory! I remember that moment when Halestorm were on stage talking, and they dropped the name David Ivory, and the whole audience of 300 bands (including glen landing) in it whispered it not to forget and wrote it down. And he now produced two of our songs! Wow... Dreamz.... Then it was the last show we played with Artie. He went to rehab the next day.

This time we are playing at David Ivory's showcase at Gullifty's Underground. We are going to play with Jesse Petas on drums. The show will be filmed and then you'll be able to watch it on demand!!! A-uu!
I am so excited! It will be great!

We'll keep you posted about everything that will be going on there :)))))))))))))))

Recording At Montgomery College Studio!

Hello!

What is going on with GL? Sorry did not post anything for the past few days! So many things to tell you about!!!

We are getting ready for the Millennium Music Conference! We are so excited for it! Of course, cause we are going to play Bubblegum there :0 A-uu! Just kidding :) We are playing David Ivory's showcase at Gullifty's Underground on Friday, February 17th.

Great news: our 2 new songs are undergoing a mastering process right now! It means they will be complete very soon!

We had such a good time while recording a new version of our song at Montgomery College studio!
This place (the college) is amazing! I am so happy for all the student that go there! Definitely THE place to go to get education in recording and producing video and audio! Ethan is an audio production major there! And recording Glen Landing's 2 songs is a part of his project! And guess who is a teacher for the project??? David Ivory!! WOW! Yes, he teaches at the college as well.

We had a chance to visit David Ivory in class, and it was amazing!! Great energy, great vibes, cool students... Awesome teacher! The class was about recording drums. And Dan was playing the drums then all the students were surrounding him trying to fix mics and all that good stuff!!

So the time while recording at the college studio with Ethan on the "mixing board" was so fun! We got Scott on drums, even with one wing he flies!!! Check him out! Playing drums for the song recording and killing it even with one hand!!!!

We had so much fun! I think the songs will come out great :))))))))))

Thanks for stopping by!!!
Tomorrow is a snuggy lovely day! I am very excited, it is my favorite holiday :))))

Love all these red hearts and flowers and candy and teddy bears everywhere!

xo-xo!
See you later! Your piano chick - Ania ;0

My First Interview for a Magazine!

How exciting! Today I was interviewed for a magazine Dtown Mag!!! It's a monthly publication for Doylestown, PA area about art, music, and life. Special thanks to David Pearson for overlooking the whole experience.

I had a phone interview. It was such a pleasure to talk to the representative from the magazine JACK FIRNENO. He was so nice and inspirational. We were talking about all kinds of things. About how i was going to music school in Minsk, about how things were there while grownig up (i will definitely dedicate a post about all this stuff later), then how Glen Landing started, how we met Chuck Treece, how we WROTE BUBBLEGUM and why it feels special. Also about the future, and dreams, about my dresses and t-shirts. Oh, i forgot to tell him about my baby seal!!! Well, next time.

So the article will be published in March issue of a magazine. Right in time for the Bubblegum release.
It felt so great to be able to share with jack and ultimately with all people all our thoughts about all things going on...

Tomorrow is a big day for GL, at David Ivory's studio first, and then off to the college studio where Ethan, our new guitar and bass player,  will be our "producer" for the session and we are going to lay down some sick tracks! a-uu!!

Thanks for tuning in for this blog post!! We are happy to have you.

Spring is coming soon, and even this little cold and this infant flurries will not stop it!

Reading Hemingway...

"Счастье в секундах, маленьких, острых... "

Today i was reading Hemingway... This is my favorite American writer. Although it it a little crazy, but I was reading his book  in Russian :) In general i read almost only Russian writers, especially 19th century writers, and today my choice was different.

The more of Hemingway's books I read the more I like him. I even feel a little addicted to his way of "talking", it's like I sit in front of the ocean and watch eternity... Yes, i am addicted to his books...

One of my favorite books for a long time was The Old Man and The Sea. The time just stops, and the waves are softly rocking, and the taste is of gin and tonic :)))

Also it was a creative day! I made so much stuff! And can't wait till tomorrow to do more.

I want you to meet my seal. Stay tuned to see more of it... It always appears on my shirts, in my notes, in the pictures... Baby seals are the most adorable and vulnerable creatures in the world!! And mine is rocked our and blue or with polka dots...

We are getting ready for the Millennium Music Conference that will take place in 2 week! Super excited!!!

Sincerely, Ania

Bubblegum Is Almost Here!

HI !!!

Ania here...

Freshly out of the studio with David Ivory, working hard to make this happen soon!

After listening to the song on all kinds of radios, speakers, in cars, on ipods, ipads, stereos ... we think we got that mix, that sound we were looking for! It takes you to that dreamy world where we are doing shady things and keep on chewing gum, where stars are shining bright, and probably you can hear the waves crashing on the beach and the whisper of a palm tree, and feel soft sand.... And  - yeah, living dreams is magical and real...

Wow! did i just chew some gum?! looks like...

So now we have to listen to the song one more LAST time and David Ivory will send it to mastering. After that - BOOM!!! it's done!!! So make sure you singn for our email list so we can SEND IT TO YOU TO ENJOY AND DREAM TO !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a little lesson of Russian if you know what i mean:)
Our video that i put Russian subtitles in!!!
Enjoy!!!

Stay calm and divine things will lead your way....

A-uu!!!

Spirituality overflow !! And Bubblegum inflow!!
See you here TOMORROW!!!!
Sweet dreams to ya'll!!!
